Wilderness Cabins

Enjoy your Disney vacation and escape to the newest woodland dwelling. The Wilderness Cabins are one-bedroom units with a separate sitting area. The bedroom has a double bed and a set of bunk beds. There is a Murphy bed in the sitting area. Each Wilderness Cabin can accommodate up to six people, plus one child under three in a fold-away crib.

All Wilderness Cabins feature a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave oven, seating for six at a dining table, air conditioning, full bathroom with hair dryer, two color cable televisions, VCR, telephone, and daily housekeeping. Each Wilderness Cabin also has an outdoor patio-deck with a picnic table and charcoal grill.

Fort Wilderness Campsite

Discover camping Disney-style! More than 700 acres of cypress and pine woods surround 784 campsites of
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. One of the world's highest-rated campgrounds, Fort Wilderness offers unsurpassed facilities, gated security, privacy, and endless recreation.

Disney's Fort Wilderness campsites are bordered by lush wilderness and feature a paved driveway pad, picnic
table, and charcoal grill. All sites have nearby air-conditioned comfort stations with private showers, ice
dispensers, restrooms, laundry facilities, and a telephone. Each site has room for parking one vehicle beside
your camping equipment.

Campsites are available for monthly and weekly stays. Based on availability, sites for camping with your pet
are also available. Pets allowed in Loops 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900

In addition, Creekside Meadows is available for group camping in a more primitive section of the campground. Groups require a minimum of 20 people. Creekside Meadows features a full comfort station, barbecue grills,
fire pits, and recreational areas. Tents and cots are available to rent for use in Creekside Meadows.

Loops 100 & 200 are nearest to Pioneer Hall & Bay Lake. Loops 2400-2700, & 1300-1500 are nearest to the pools. Loops 800-1000 are nearest Meadow Trading Post. Loops 600, 800-1300, 1600-1900 are full hookup sites. Loops 1500 & 2000 are partial hookup sites.

Two pools - the main pool & children's pool are near the Meadow Trading Post, the other pool is near the Wilderness Homes.

Where is Fort Wilderness?
It is located in the Magic Kingdom resort area, on the banks of Bay Lake.

What is the difference between the Resort and Campground?
The Campground part features 784 campsites for tents and recreational vehicles of all sizes. Campsites are secluded from adjoining sites by trees and other natural surroundings and are conveniently located near air-conditioned comfort stations with restrooms, private showers, laundry facilities, ice dispensers and pay
telephones. The 406 Wilderness Cabins are an option for guests who enjoy the great outdoors but prefer
hotel suite-type accommodations. These luxury cabins, located throughout the pine-filled forest, sleep six and
offer many of the comforts of home.

What will I find in my Wilderness Cabin?
Each log cabin is air-conditioned and features a master bedroom, separate sitting area, fully equipped kitchen
and private patio deck with a charcoal grill and picnic table. The bedroom provides a full-size bed and twin-size bunk beds. The adjacent sitting area features vaulted ceilings, comfortable furniture, a full size, pull-down bed, color cable television, VCR, telephone and a spacious oval dining table. The cabin is stocked with many "home-away-from-home" amenities such as appliances, linens, dishes and cooking utensils. However, guests can leave
all the housework at home - daily housekeeping service is provided to all Wilderness Cabins.

How many people can the Cabins accomodate?
Each Wilderness Cabin can accommodate up to six people, plus one child under three in a fold-away crib.

What will I find at my campsite?
Campsites are equipped with 115/220-volt electrical outlets, a charcoal grill, water, a picnic table, a waste container and, in most cases, a sanitary disposal hook-up. Camping in our preferred loops also includes cable
T.V. access (must provide own cable or may be purchased at Settlement or Meadow Trading Post.)
Just down the trail, you'll find an air-conditioned Comfort Station equipped with private showers, an ice
dispenser, laundry facilities, public and house phones and restrooms, open 24 hours (except the laundry room). Comfort Stations and Laundry Rooms require key card entry during certain hours.

Where are the best room locations?
Loops 100 & 200 are nearest to Pioneer Hall & Bay Lake. Loops 2400-2700, & 1300-1500 are nearest to the
pools. Loops 800-1000 are nearest Meadow Trading Post. Loops 600, 800-1300, 1600-1900 are full hookup
sites. Loops 1500 & 2000 are partial hookup sites.

What happens at check-in?
You'll receive your room key (plastic card), a small 'guidebook', park maps, and a copy of the 'Gazette' the
resort's newsletter. You'll also have the option of leaving credit card details so that you can charge anything
you purchase during your stay to your room card.

Are there childcare facilities?
No, there are no onsite childcare facilities. Kindercare offers in-room babysitting. Reservations should be made
24 hours in advance. Call 407-827-5444.

Is there a games arcade?
Davy Crockett Wilderness Arcade is located at Pioneer Hall, and open daily from 7:00am to 12:00 midnight.
Daniel Boone's Wilderness Arcade is located next to the Meadow Swimmin' Pool, and open daily from 7:30am
to 10:00pm.

Is there a character meal?
No, there are no character meals at Fort Wilderness.
However, you will find characters at Mickey's Backyard BBQ, held seasonally.

What is the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue?
A nightly dinner show at Pioneer Hall. Features all-you-care-to-eat homestyle "fixin's" and a foot-stompin', handclappin' Western revue. Show times 5:00, 7:15 & 9:30pm. For advance tickets call 407-939-3463.

How do I get to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue?
Board the bus at any bus stop to the Settlement bus stop. When exiting, proceed to Pioneer Hall. Ticket
pick-up is on the left and the show takes place in the center of the building.

Where can I get refillable mugs?
They are available at Trail's End.

Where can I find Disney transportation?
Buses go to the four main parks, Downtown Disney & TTC. For other destinations change at Downtown Disney
or TTC.
Boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom is located at the Marina. Transportation begins 1/2 hour prior to park opening and continues through the park's closing.
Internal buses  (Chip & Dale) & electric golf carts (to rent) within campground.

Can I park at Pioneer Hall?
There is no parking at Pioneer Hall. Fort Wilderness provides bus transportation to Pioneer Hall. There is
15-minute parking at the Meadow Trading Post for your shopping convenience.

Can I drive my car to locations within Fort Wilderness, and where do I park?
No, motor traffic is permitted when entering and exiting the campground only. Please board the bus for all destinations within the Campground. Parking is permitted for one vehicle at your campsite or Wilderness Cabin; additional parking is available at Front Desk.

Where can I rent a golf cart?
At the Bike Barn, located behind Meadow Trading Post. Golf carts can be reserved up to one year in advance by calling 407-824-2742.

Where are the nearest ATM locations?
In the lobby are of Pioneer Hall.

Where can I make dining priority seating arrangements or purchase tickets?
Priority seating for most Walt Disney World restaurants can be made by touching the WDW DINE button on
your in-room phone or by visiting Guest Services. Theme Park tickets are available at either the front desk or
Guest Services.

What dining options are available?
Trail's End Restaurant - located next to Pioneer Hall.
Bountiful Breakfast Buffet each morning 7:30 - 11:00am.
Bunches of Lunch Buffet 12:00pm - 2:30pm.
Down-Home Dinner Buffet. Friday and Saturday 4:30pm - 10:00pm. Sunday through Thursday 4:30pm - 9:30pm.
Crockett's Tavern - serves up the best drinks in the wilderness. Located right smack dab in the middle of the settlement next to Trail's End Restaurant. Appetizers and pizzas also available. Serving 4:00pm - 10:00pm.

Is pizza delivery available?
There is no in-room pizza delivery. Pizza is available as a take-out item from the Trail's End Restaurant nightly
from 4:30 to 10:00pm.

Where can I buy groceries?
Groceries and supplies can be purchased at the Meadow and Settlement Trading Posts.

Is there a swimming pool?
Adult and children's pools are at the 'Ol Swimmin' Hole and Wilderness Pool.

What time is the pool open?
Open daily 24 hours.

Can I play tennis at the Resort?
Yes, you can enjoy a leisurely game of tennis at one of the two lighted tennis courts located next to the
Swimmin' Hole. Equipment rentals available during Bike Barn operating hours.

Are bikes available to hire?
Yes, Mongoose bicycles are available to rent at the Bike Barn. Horseshoes and shuffleboard sets are also
available for rental.
Surrey bikes are available for rental at Fort Wilderness Marina.

Where can I rent a boat?
Boat rentals for Mercury WaterMouse boats and SunTracker pontoon boats are available at the marina next
to the Settlement Trading Post. Canoes and paddle boats are available at the Bike Barn.

What will I find at Tri-Circle-D Ranch?
Located next to the Petting Farm, near Pioneer Hall. Home of the sturdy Percheron and Belgian draft horses
that pull the streetcars down Main Street, USA daily in the Magic Kingdom Park. Also featured is a genuine blacksmith shop and "Smithy," who maintains the horseshoe needs of the Fort Wilderness Trail Ride horses
and streetcar teams. Open daily for spectators and photographers.

Where is the Petting Farm?
Located between Pioneer Hall and the Tri-Circle-D Ranch, featuring lovable and pettable goats, ducks and
other small critters. Pony rides daily. Open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

What is the Campfire Program?
Gather round the fire, sing along with Chip 'n Dale and watch a classic Disney movie behind the Meadow
Trading Post. Hot Dogs, popcorn, snacks, candies, s'mores and refreshments make for a rip roarin' time.
Call 407-824-2727 for show times and movie schedule.
If it rains, a 'Porch Jam' sing-a-long takes place at the Meadow Swimmin' Hole.

Where can I go horseback riding?
Hit the trail at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground for a gentle ride through scenic surroundings.
Call 407-939-7529 for reservations and information.

What is the wagonride?
Departing nightly from Pioneer Hall, for a 45 minute excursion through the wilderness.
It begins boarding each evening at 6:45pm and 9:15pm. The wagonride departs once the wagon is full.

Is there a jogging trail?
Winding across 2.3 miles of paved and dirt paths, the Fort Wilderness Exercise Trail offers a challenge for those desiring a brisk walk or a high speed workout in a beautiful woodland setting.

Are there any shops at the Resort?
Yes, the Meadow Trading Post and Settlement Trading Post. Both supply souvenirs, groceries, camera supplies, sundries, film developing, newspapers, postage stamps, beer and wine. Meadow Trading Post also supplies propane tanks and camping supplies.

What time is check-in?
Normal check-in time is after 1:00pm for campsites, and after 3pm for Wilderness Cabins. For early travellers,
every effort will be made to get you settled in as soon as possible.

What time is check-out?
Check-out time is before 11:00am. Later check out may be requested. Express check-out is available to
guests with American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Disney Credit Card, Discover, Diners Club or JCB.

Where do I get...?
Extra pillows, & blankets, bed rails, baby cribs, handicap aids, extra hangers, towels, refrigerators,
coffeemakers, or any other sundry items are available from Housekeeping.

Where do I find the ice machines?
Ice is available at the Meadow and Settlement Trading Posts and at the Comfort Stations.

Is there a dry-cleaning/laundry service?
Laundry bags and laundry lists are located in the closet of each Wilderness Cabin. Contact housekeeping for
a bag for the Campsite. One day service is available if received by 8:30am and will be returned by 7:00pm.

Are pets allowed onsite?
Certain sites are designated for guests with pets. Only seeing-eye dogs or assist dogs are permitted in cabins. Availability is limited. For your pet's safety and comfort, a kennel is provided at the front of the Resort.

Is luggage assistance available?
Yes, through Bell Services. When you arrive at the resort, someone from Bell Services will assist you to your room with your luggage. When you are ready to leave, just touch the LUGGAGE/VALET SERVICE button on the in-room phone. Gratuity not included.

If I use the package delivery service in the parks, where do I pick them up?
If you shop at any merchandise location at the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or the Downtown Disney area, and choose to have your packages delivered back to your resort, they can be picked up the following day at the Meadow Trading Post.

Does the Resort have wheelchairs available for guest use?
Yes, a limited number of wheelchairs are available at Guest Services. There is no charge, but a credit card guarantee may be required. A limited number or wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs are available to rent at the theme parks.

Resort Tips
  • A campfire program is held nightly at the Meadow Trading Post.  It features a sing-along, Disney movies and cartoons. Marshmallows can be toasted over the campfires.  You can bring your own
    or buy them there.  The Chuckwagon is located there and sells pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, nachos, candy and beverages for those who want something a little more substantial. 
    Look for Chip and Dale to visit here. This entertainment is free to all WDW resort guests.
  • Also nightly, weather permitting, Bay Lake is the backdrop for the Electrical Water Pageant.
    Dancing lights on a 1000 foot string of floating barges shimmer over Bay Lake. This seven minute
    show can be seen from the Fort Wilderness beach and marina around 9:45 p.m.
